Dialogue
Starting it
- “Bar's closed. Well, the door's open. There's just nobody in it. That's closed with extra steps.”
- “Folks stopped coming when I lost my lucky mouthpiece. That's the bit you blow into on a saxophone. Without it, the horn just complains.”
- “A kid took it right off the bar. Teenager. Ran out laughing and threw it in the lake up by the old shrine.”
- “I went after him. Got there in time to watch a big fish come up and swallow it. Whole. Like a pill.”
- “So here's the job. That fish lives at the shrine. A pufferfish. You beat him, and he'll cough my mouthpiece back up. Fish do that.”
- “The shrine's east of town, out on the cliffs. Bring it back here. I'll be at the piano. Not playing it.”
Handing it in
- “That's it. That's my lucky mouthpiece. It smells like fish. Now I'm gonna smell like fish. That's the price of luck.”
- “Here, for your trouble. It's not much. Luck's expensive, and I just got mine back.”
- “Tonight I'll get the band together, tell the barman, put the word out. People come back for music. They always do.”
- “Come back tomorrow. It'll be open. Lights, drinks, the whole thing. And I'll be playing.”
After it is done
- “Come back tomorrow. Tonight I'm getting the band back together. That's mostly knocking on doors and waking up men who owe me money.”
At the hand-in without the item
- “No mouthpiece yet? The fish is at the shrine, east of town. Big fella, spikes. He'll look like he had a big lunch. He did.”
When your bag is full
- “Your bag's full. Make some room. I'd hold it for you, but I already lost one thing this month.”
