Mortimer kept house at the old manor in the Hollow March. He says it's perfectly safe. His mother's music box is still in there, upstairs or downstairs, he can't remember which. He gave you the key and a Candlelight spell in case the lamps are off: hold it and right-click for a light. You go in with nothing: the house keeps your bag at the door and gives it back when you leave. Get the box and bring it to Mortimer in Ashen Landing.

Dialogue
Starting it
- “I kept house at the old manor for thirty years. Lovely place. People say things about it, but people say things about everything.”
- “My mother's music box is still in there. Plays one song, badly. I'd like it back. She'd want me to have it. Or she'd want it back. Hard to say with her.”
- “It's upstairs. Or downstairs. One of the stairs. I can't remember which. Big house. You'll find it.”
- “I'd go get it myself. Piece of cake. But I'm enjoying it so much here. I've been enjoying it here for about a year now. Every day.”
- “Here's the key. The house keeps your things at the door and gives them back when you leave. Old house. Old manners.”
- “The lamps might be off. I stopped paying for them. So here, a little candle spell. Right-click, and a light follows you around. Cozy.”
- “The manor's out in the Hollow March, past the barrow field. Big house, nice windows. Boarded up, but nice.”
- “Perfectly safe. Go in, get the box, come out. I'd tell you if it wasn't. I'm almost sure I would.”
Talking to them again
- “The manor's in the Hollow March. Use the key, get the box. Upstairs or downstairs. It's definitely one of those.”
- “Nothing to worry about in there. It's a house. Mostly floors. Some walls. The usual.”
Handing it in
- “You're alive!? You're alive. Great! Of course you are. Why wouldn't you be? And you brought the box. Lovely.”
- “Here. For your trouble. I'll take my key back. And here's a copy. I had it made for whoever came back. Which is you. Naturally.”
- “Go back whenever you like. My mother collected things. Every room's full of them. Help yourself. Perfectly safe. As you've seen.”
- “My mother would've liked you. She liked anybody who came back. She didn't get much of that.”
After it is done
- “You've got the copy. Go back in whenever you like. My mother never threw anything out. Mostly she threw me out.”
- “Been back in? Lovely, isn't it. I keep meaning to visit. I keep meaning a lot of things.”
At the hand-in without the item
- “You're alive! I mean... you're back. Good. No music box, though. That's fine. It's not going anywhere.”
When your bag is full
- “Your bag's full. I'd hold onto something for you, but I don't hold onto things. Look what happened to the manor.”
