Dialogue
Starting it
- “Hey. Hey, easy. I'm not gonna hit you. I mean, I'm supposed to. That's sort of the whole job.”
- “Something up there makes us fight. I don't even like fighting. I'm a skeleton. Everything I've got is already broken.”
- “I've got a brother. Clem. They marched him off to another island, and I haven't heard a thing since. Not a peep. Not a rattle.”
- “So I wrote him a note. I'd take it myself, but if I leave my post, they find a way to make you deader.”
- “You get around. Find Clem for me. He looks like me, only taller. He'd want you to know he's taller.”
- “Last I heard, they put him on the big island. Where you woke up. He'll be the one not trying to kill you.”
- “And if he's... you know. Deader. Tell him I said hi anyway.”
Handing it in
- “Whoa. Easy. I'm on break. A note? For me? Nobody writes to me. Most of us can't hold a pen.”
- “That's Dale's handwriting. Well. Bone-writing. He always pressed too hard. Went right through the paper.”
- “Dear Clem. I'm okay. Eat something. We can't eat. He knows that. That's just how he says he loves you.”
- “Tell him I'm okay. Tell him I think about him every time they make me charge at somebody. Which is a lot. So, a lot.”
- “Here. My lucky rib. Give it to him. No. You keep it. He'd just lose it again. He lost the last one inside himself.”
- “And hey. If they ever make me fight you, I'll miss on purpose. Probably. I'm not great at it either way.”
At the hand-in without the item
- “Dale sent you? Then where's the note? You read it, didn't you. Everybody reads it. It's two lines.”
When your bag is full
- “Your bag's full. I'd hold the rib for you, but I'm already holding all of mine.”
isle lines
- “Last I heard, they put him on the big island. Where you woke up. He'll be the one not trying to kill you.”
- “Last I heard, they put him on the West Isle. You'll want a boat. I'd swim it, but bones sink.”
- “Last I heard, they shipped him to the Desert Isle. You'll want a boat. Sand gets in everything, but he's mostly holes, so it gets right back out.”
- “Last I heard, they put him up on the Alpine Isle. You'll want a boat, and a coat. He hates the cold. He says he feels it in his bones. He is his bones.”
