How to Survive

Sheriff · Desert Isle (3rd island), Last Chance.

Quests

Talk

  1. “Sheriff Boone. I keep the peace. There's not much of it, so it doesn't take long. Then I sit.”
  2. “Jail's empty. Has been for years. Not because there's no crime. Because the criminals all went out to that crypt on the far side. Nobody comes back from there to arrest.”
  3. “You see a man in a long coat with a gun on each hip, don't draw on him. That's just Earl's cousin. He's harmless. Mostly to himself.”
  4. “I put up a wanted poster once. Fella came in, saw his own face, and turned himself in. Said it was a bad likeness. Wanted to set the record straight. Good man. Terrible outlaw.”
  5. “The desert'll kill you three ways. Heat, thirst, and the fellas with rifles in the flats. I can't do anything about the first two. The third I just don't go near.”

More talk

  1. “This town feels like it's waiting for a stranger to ride in. Then you rode in. Now it feels like it's waiting for you to ride off into the sunset. I'd hold off on that. I don't think there's anything past the sunset.”
  2. “Out at the crypt the dead come at you in waves, folks say. That's not an ambush. An ambush, you only need the one. That's somebody scared.”

As the gods fall

Once the gods of 1 crypt have been beaten and their chests looted in your world (the Gang of Elites counts), every third talk:

  1. “Heard you went through the door at the bottom of a crypt and killed what was waiting. I'd arrest you, but I don't know the charge. Trespassing, I suppose. On a god.”

Once the gods of 3 crypts have been beaten and their chests looted in your world (the Gang of Elites counts), every third talk:

  1. “The waves out at the crypts are getting thinner. That's what happens when you run low on extras. You start using the same skeleton twice. I've seen it. Same hat.”

When you walk off mid-sentence

  • “Walkin' off on the law. That's alright. I wasn't gonna do anything.”
  • “Okay, then. I'll sit. That's what I was gonna say anyway.”
  • “Hm. Well. Don't leave town. You can. I'm just supposed to say that.”
