Quests

Talk

  1. “Name's Hobb. I mined this mountain forty years. Then one day it started mining me back. That's when you retire. When the mountain starts taking turns.”
  2. “There's a lake up top. Lava. Glows all night. Folks climb up the road to look at it. I tell them, don't lean. They lean. The mountain doesn't care about your feelings. Or your balance.”
  3. “There's an old crypt right up on the crater's lip. Used to be two on this mountain. The other one's just gone. Don't ask me where a crypt goes. I'm a miner, not a scientist.”
  4. “You touch the lava, you'll know it. You won't touch it twice. That's not wisdom. That's just how fire teaches. It's a very effective teacher. Terrible bedside manner.”
  5. “Every plank in this town came over on Rolf's boat. Took him eleven years. He says it was nine. Rolf rounds down. That's how he stays cheerful.”

When you walk off mid-sentence

  • “Aye, go on then. Forty years down the pit. I'm used to talking to the dark.”
  • “Off you go. Nobody listens to the old miner. That's how we lost Gordon.”
  • “That's alright. I'd forgotten the end anyway. That's the age.”
